Michael's Cancer Recovery

I am writing this for my husband of 30 years, Michael Ray.

"Big" Mike, from our days at the Ramrod(1994-2000), "Mr." Mike from Eagle Ft. Lauderdale(2000-2005) & Jackhammer,

Mike Ray has been supporting Fort Lauderdale Gay Community for 30 years. Many folks know him from our days of delivering Buzz & Scoop magazines, and as Head of Both Ramrod and Eagle Security.

Since 2005, Mike has been working as a Electronics Security Systems Logistics Manager & Is currently a Tech Writer for IC Realtime of Pompano and others. Michael is a wonderful father to 4 fur-babies, (our pets) and is the most supportive & loving husband to me. This assemblage of friends & family, and the love we all share for him, is the strength he will need and continue to thrive upon, as we move forward in this battle.

Michael is a fighter. His strength & fortitude are focused on healing and recovery, and why we are asking for help.

Michael's adventure began in October of this year. A colonoscopy detected a mass that turned out to be cancer. Further VERY EXPENSIVE scans and tests revealed several other areas of concern. The team of doctors and nurses have been very positive and expect treatment (both chemo & radiation), to be very effective.

Currently, with only these first few scans, (PT, and MRI) and the tests for each area of concern, ambulance and 2 emergency room trips, our OoP is $3800. (another $2800 is coming due). We have made some arrangements where we can.

His further expenses going forward include the radiation and chemotherapy treatments (to begin this week Dec. 1, 2023), as well as his recovery times and health management through treatment and beyond (the schedule is for 2 regimens of chemotherapy and 6 weeks(40 treatments) of radiation. Both his team of doctors, and the support from our own friends and family have made this a battle we know we can win and intend to 150%!
