Let's get Michael a finger back!

As many of you may already know, on October 5th, 2020, my brother experienced a terrible accident while using a rail shaper. The accident resulted in the loss of his middle finger as well as damage to his index and ring fingers. Thankfully, Grandview Hospital was less than 5 minutes away from the shop, so his business partner was able to drive him to the hospital quickly. After hours in the ER, my brother, Michael, was transported by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital for an emergency surgery to repair as much as possible. Unfortunately, due to the extensive amount of damage, the doctor was not able to reattach his middle finger. After exhausting every possible avenue during the surgery, Michael was left with permanent damage that will forever limit the mobility of his index finger and ring finger.
Over the past 4 months Michael has not been able to return to his normal tasks with work. During this time, Michael continues to do everything possible to regain as much movement as possible. He has been working with a Physical Therapist to increase the range of motion and strength in his fingers as they heal. Recently, the Physical Therapist began to focus on strengthening what is left of his middle finger, in an attempt regain enough strength so my brother could be fitted for a prosthetic.
Throughout this journey Michael has maintained a positive mindset, as he realizes the accident could have been much worse. Still, we all know that his heart and soul yearn to be back in the woodshop, building and creating. Fortunately for us, we have an opportunity to facilitate my brother’s fully functional return work by donating a few dollars to help cover the costs of the prosthetic.
This is where I am asking for some help. For those that know my brother, know that he is one of the most selfless people. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and he does not ask for anything, which is why I created this page. The cost of the prosthetic is between $9,000 - $10,000 out of pocket. If you can donate, even a little bit, then we can all help my brother get back to the job he loves and help his family move forward with piece of mind for the future.
Thank you and God bless.
