Michelle and Emma swim the English Channel (at The Peak )

Emma and I are hoping to swim the length of the English Channel within the month of September at our local swimming pool. We will swim the equivalent of 21 miles each which is 1344 lengths in a 25m pool to raise funds for our friend and colleague Julia.

Around 2 months ago Julia was in Edinburgh airport with her family about to head off on holiday when she took unwell and was rushed to hospital. There she found out she had suffered a very rare spinal stroke and was left paralyse, unable to walk and had very limited movement in her arms. While Julia is getting the best of care in the spinal unit in Glasgow and receiving physiotherapy to help her build up the strength to hopefully be able to walk again one day, we have decided to fundraise for private physio that Julia will eventually need. This will hopefully allow her to get back to some form of normality with her three young kids who just want their mummy home. Julia has worked as a nurse in the NHS for years helping countless people in her career and it’s time she got some of that help back.
