Michelle Carpenter Futch Medical
Don protégé
My sister Michelle is a true warrior! She has battled cancer for the past 13 years.
In 2004 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent biopsy and radiation. In 2010 she was diagnosed with lung cancer. She had her right lung removed and received chemotherapy. In 2012 she had two melanoma spots removed on her left shoulder and arm. In 2014 she was once again diagnosed with breast cancer. She started chemotherapy, but the cancer was very aggressive and just grew. Her left breast was removed along with several lymph nodes. She then received radiation treatments.
Just weeks after finishing radiation, she felt lumps in her neck. The cancer has now moved into several lymph nodes on the left side of her neck. No doctor will remove the lymph nodes, so she is now taking chemotherapy pills. As a result of the chemotherapy she has developed neuropathy in her legs and feet, and is unable to work. Understandably her resources have been depleted and yet she has continuing demands for living expenses and treatments.
Currently she is scheduled to start hyperbaric chamber treatments on April 10th. She will have 40 treatments consisting of an hour and a half twice a day, sealed in a chamber where she will receive 100% pure oxygen under high pressure. This process allows the oxygen to be quickly absorbed, thus "super-powering" the cells so the cancer can be destroyed.
These treatments are expensive and are not covered by Michelle's Medicare insurance. The facility is more than 150 miles from her home, so she will also have the expense of living quarters while receiving the treatments.
Michelle desperately needs these treatments and help with the cost so that she can continue to fight and utimately conquer this ugly disease!
Thank you in advance for your financial support and prayers!
