Spencer Dix Memorial Fund

The Surgical Group at Community Hospital learned of a devastating tragedy that occurred on Feb 26th, 2024. Our dear co-worker, Michelle Dix, lost her youngest son, Spencer, unexpectedly. As a group, we pride ourselves as being a family and when an event happens to one of us, it happens to us all.

Spencer was the youngest of Michelle's 4 sons. He was a Junior at Layfayette High School. Spencer loved playing basketball and was the "Apple of his Mother's eye" being the baby of the family. He was whitty and filled with jokes that lightened her soul.

As a group, we are banning together to help our dear co-worker, who is the backbone of our group. She comes in each and everyday with a smile on her face and is there to help all of us, Doctors, Nurses, other Staff members and of course, the patients which she always put first.

In such a tragedy, we are looking to honor Spencer in a way that will live on, not only for Michelle and her Family, but also his graduating class of 2025.

We are accepting donations to help the Dix family offset unexpected funeral costs and to set up a scholarship fund in Spencer's name for a recipient of Michelle and her family's choice. We all may be lost at times, but when we have friends and family that come together, it can make the hurt be a bit less. Please help us with your monetary support to achieve our goal.
