In January my mother Michelle Libby Hill was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Since then she has endured two surgeries to remove the cancer and lymph nodes. After a battery of tests and appoitments, her doctors have given her a wonderful prognosis. But there is still a lot to do. My mother will be having surgery again this week to have a port put into her chest for the chemotherapy treatments. These treatments are expected to start by the end of the second week in April. The chemotherapy treatments will be every two weeks for four months, followed by seven weeks of daily radiation. And then of curse medication for the rest of her life. She is expecting to lose her hair. Since the begining of this journey my mother has been optimistic and very brave. She wants those who know her personally to know they do not need to worry, until she says differently. My brother and sisters have been very supportive and my father has been amazing. We are hoping to raise about $8,000.00. Cutting down to the bare minimum of every expense still leaves about a thousand dollar gap per month in her personal finances. The last two months, and the next six are a crucial time for her household. The sooner we can meet this goal the sooner my mother can focus on healing, and not disconnection and overdue payment notices.
