Michelle Posey Parkinson's Disease

 Michelle Posey has had Parkinson's Disease for over 15 years and her  symptoms were worsening.  After many medical screenings, she was approved as a candidate for an operation called  DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation)   Although the operation does not cure the disease,  the procedure can greatly reduce, if not eliminate many of the symptoms, including the sometimes uncontrollable tremors and body movements.  DBS is made up of three parts: a battery-operated pulse generator (neurostimulator) implanted in your chest; electrodes implanted in specific movement centers of your brain; insulated wires (leads) to carry electric pulses from the generator to the electrodes (Lifeline.com)

Michelle was operated on yesterday morning, and the doctors at Cherry Hill Clinic successfully implanted the brain electrodes.  She had two nickel sized holes drilled in her forehead, but thankfully she was "put under" for the procedure. The next phase is to connect the electrodes with the pulse generator, a separate operation that is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2018

"You Tube" has videos of people with Parkinson's that have had this        operation done. IT IS ABSOLUTEY  AMAZING how well it works!  These patients go from shaking uncontrollably, to pushing the button on their external remote control,  their hands and body become immediately still.  Like a miracle.

Michelle and her husband, Russ Posey  have 10 children ( most of them grown), and live in a small community in Southcentral Alaska.  Russ has faithfully pastored our small church in Kenny Lake, with Michelle at his side, for 14 years. Michelle never complains about her Parkinson's, but it has been more and more difficult for her to live life without struggling with the very simplest of everyday tasks.  Michelle and Pastor live on a very small Pastor's income, and need our financial support. We want to help defray the huge costs of this operation, and the many  expenses, many unforeseeable, that will be incurred.  Please help us show God's love to Michelle and her family  by  coming up along side of these faithful servants and sharing their burden, lightening their load, and helping in their time of need.  All proceeds collected will be given to Michelle and Pastor Posey.
