Michelle Posey Parkinsons-New Battery for DBS unit

Michelle's Deep Brain Stimulator NEEDS A NEW BATTERY! She needs it within two months and she needs help paying for it! Please read on

My name is Maureen and I'm fundraising for our Pastor's wife, Michelle Posey, who has advanced Parkinson's disease. In 2018 God answered our prayers- Michelle was able to undergo Deep Brain Stimulation surgery and what a miraculous, life-changer it has been! Her DBS operation has eliminated almost all of her Parkinson's symptoms- uncontrollable, horrible tremors, slowed movement (bradykinesia) poor balance, loss of automatic movements- all part of the disease- are gone because of this amazing procedure. She is now mobile and able to do normal, everyday things without assistance.

However, the battery to her DBS will run out of power in approx. 2 months.

She has less than 2 months before the current battery WILL NO LONGER WORK. She has been scheduled for surgery on 20 July in Anchorage for this new replacement but they do not have the money or insurance to pay for it.

We do not know the total cost; but for now we estimate a minimum of $15,000 and that is assuming that Providence Hospital pays for everything else.

If Providence does NOT help with the cost then the total will probably be around $50,000 as the battery unit is ~ $30,000 by itself.
