Michelle Schlacter and her Family

Hello, my name is Gina McKerricher and my husband Dale and I are setting up this GoFundMe for our close family friend Michelle Schlacter and her family.

On August 18th, 2024 Michelle (from Buylea, Saskatchewan), her boyfriend Kayne and their friend Woody were in a bad roll over accident. All 3 of the kids suffered from injuries but our sweet Michelle is currently fighting for her life with her Mom, and our friend, Toni by her side at North Battleford Union Hospital. Michelle's ribs, top to bottom, are all fractured. She has contused lungs the left one being the worst. Her skull is fractured and she has a concussion. She broke her right hand including her ring and pinky fingers. Her left shoulder cuff and collar bone are fractured. Michelle's spine is fractured from the top of her shoulders all the way down to her lower back. Her left ankle is sprained and fractured. She is currently suffering a lot of pain from the head injuries.

Michelle will be in the hospital until she's more stable. Toni will be Michelle's 24/7 health care provider for the unforeseen future. When she's able to go home they will need to set up lifts, monitors, mobility aids (cane, walker and wheelchair), easy access points, etc. in their home. We are raising money to help cover the costs of everything Michelle needs at home and for Toni's lost wages while she helps Michelle recover. For the fuel to transport Michelle to regular physio appointments in Regina and to all of her specialist appointments and surgeries that will require travel to Saskatoon. Toni will be homeschooling Michelle as she will not be able to attend school until she's back on her feet.

Michelle has a long road ahead of her but she is a fighter and she has her family and friends surrounding her and praying for her recovery from this devastating accident. Toni and Brad want to thank everyone for their prayers, love and concerns during this incredibly difficult time. We are all so grateful to have Michelle and the boys still with us as they are all very lucky to be here. All donations are appreciated greatly!
