Michelle will beat this cancer!
Our dear friend Michelle has recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 48. She will be starting treatment soon at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon NH. Everyone is confident she will beat this!
Anyone who knows Michelle knows she would never ask for anything but good thoughts, love, and prayer while she goes through this journey, but I know we can do much more! Michelle is out of work for an unknown amount of time and will be traveling five days a week for her cancer treatments. She will not have any income coming in and as we know life expenses and travelling everyday adds up!
Michelle has faced adversity before and her resilience is remarkable. This time will be no different! In 2003 the father of children, her husband Joseph, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 28 of an undiagnosed medical condition. In one moment Michelle went from living her life with her husband by her side to a single mom raising three young children. Michelle faced that challenge head on and gave her children a foundation to succeed in life. They say it takes a village to raise a child and Michelle found that village. Not only in her close friends and family but with her family at Northern Lights All Star Cheerleading. Ally and Hannah embraced cheerleading and Michelle soon had an extended support group at Northern Lights. I know that family will be by her side in this battle! Ally excelled in cheerleading and went on to collegiate cheering at Morehead State University in Kentucky. Hannah is enjoying cheerleading at UNH while pursuing her degree. Joey excelled in sports in high school and for quite a few years we couldn't open the local sports page without seeing the name Minson in some sports article. Michelle has so much to be proud of and we are proud of her! It wasn't easy and I know there were days that she wanted to crawl into bed and never come out, but she did and she will do it again and beat this cancer! Michelle is the Thelma to my sister's Louise; she's always been around to annoy me as my little sister's best friend. I KNOW she will be around to annoy me in the nursing home as I chase her down the hall in our wheelchairs because she is wearing my clothes!
Michelle and I have a fierce competition going as to who makes the best whoopie pies, which of course is me, (right Michelle?) and I will let you all decide. Anyone who donates $100.00 or more to help Michelle will receive a dozen of my delicious home-made whoopie pies! You decide when you want them!
We all love Michelle more than words can say, especially her children and her fiancé Charlie, and we know she is going to beat this! Let's help her get through this with some peace of mind while she does it!
