Why We’re Raising Funds


Michelle Farnsworth; artist, designer, student, mother, warrior (presented in no particular order).


Michelle was diagnosed with breast cancer about two years ago and for those of you that know her, know she has fought against this disease unfailingly with the strength and compassion of a woman most wild. The cancer went into remission but has since returned. 


November 2020, Michelle was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The cancer is also beyond just the tumor itself and can not be removed. It is in her cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls balance, some cognitive processes and motor control. 


Right now, Michelle is starting ten days of radiation treatment that will be followed up by oral chemotherapy pills for the rest of her life. She has been given six months to live. 


Michelle’s family and friends would like to provide Michelle with whatever funds she will need to spend her next six months fulfilling some of the dreams she has and create memories with her loved ones. 


Michelle’s Dreams

Our goal for this project, at the very least, is help Michelle get to Disney World with a $1000 goal for that. Anything extra will go towards some of the other dreams she has.
 
Airfare to visit the Disney World Star Wars Experience 

  Michelle would like to take her family to Disney’s new Star Wars experience and needs to purchase airline tickets. The experience itself is being covered.

Roundtrip airfare cost- $1000

Road trip to Yellowstone National Park

Visit a Redwood Forest

See An Active Volcano


More About Michelle

Michelle is a hardworking mother of a teenager and one smart cookie. In 2019 she earned her Masters Degree from the University of Kansas School of Business. She achieved her masters while fighting against breast cancer. 


Kind words and thoughts for Michelle

Michelle and I have been friends for 20 years. We were both there for the birth of each other's children. It would be easier to mention the things we haven't been through together, than a list of what we have. She means the world to me.

My first Reapercon Michelle and I met for breakfast at the waffle house on sunday before we left to go home, This became our little tradion to have breakfast at a convention at least once. After our Divroces we became alot closer, most of the time it was michelle sending me hugs via messanger to cheer me up. Thats who she , kind, caring, a great Artist and a wonderful human. We have not gotten together for a long time due to lockdowns and cancelations, Im thank she has Steve and Brandy, But she has all of us too. Con-Friends, random facebook artist, close friends and family, we are all here in her time of need. We love you Michelle.

I first met Michelle at one of her painting classes she was teaching at Gen Con. It was one of my first miniature painting classes and I dropped one of the painted minis that she was passing around for the class. I have known her for almost ten years now and she has always been a wonderful artist and member of the miniature painting community. She has taught so many people and inspired many more in the hobby.
