Dearest friends, family, and fellow artists -
I am thrilled that I was awarded a four-week artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center this July! Although a portion of the residency costs have been offset by a grant I received from VSC and the work-study exchange I will perform while there, in order to attend the residency, I am responsible for the remaining balance of $2,800 (due June 3).
This will be my first residency, and the timing could not be better! As I advance into my third and final year of graduate school, this residency will allow me sufficient time, space, and mental focus to refine the formal and conceptual components of my thesis exhibition. I will create several soft sculptures and an intricate and large-scale wall-hanging textile piece while in Vermont, all of which will be included in my graduate thesis exhibition in the spring of 2017.
Your support, in any amount, means the world to me. By contributing, you will play a significant role in helping me develop my artwork and my career as a professional artist. Although I'll never be able to thank you fully, I am offering these gifts in exchange for your generosity.*
For a contribution of $10: a cast soap mouth
For a contribution of $30: a flower cup (made using a linoleum block that I carved)
For a contribution of $50: a one of a kind ceramic "fold"
For a contribution of $100: a flying fish
*Each gift will be handmade by me, and includes shipping costs. I'll get your gift to you as soon as I can, but please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery.
