Michelle Bright's Family Court Expenses
Donation protected
We have set up this go fund me page to help with the expense of the ongoing murder trial of 17-year-old Michelle Bright, a teenager who in 1999 was brutally murdered. Finally, 21 years later, on 12/8/2020 police arrested a person in connection to her murder, it has been an ongoing court case since then.
A number of dates in 2023 have been set in which Michelle’s case will go to trial. Michelle’s Family will attend 2 weeks of pre-trial court proceedings in January, followed by the 8-10 weeks murder trial which is set for April. If a guilty verdict is confirmed at the trial, Michelle’s Family will have further court attendances for sentencing, which could last several weeks.
The total number of weeks set aside for this trial is estimated to be around 14+ weeks. As Michelle’s trial is set down for the Supreme Court in Dubbo, this will require all of Michelle’s Family to travel, arrange accommodation, and have a significant amount of time off work.
We, the family and friends of Michelle, are uniting to try and take a little of the financial burden off Michelle’s Family during her trial. We are asking you to join us, if you can, by donating to this cause close to our hearts.
We have set a fundraising goal of $50,000.00 in hopes of covering most of Michelle’s Family’s expenses during this time. Any money left over after Michelle’s trial will be donated to the ‘Homicide Victims Support Group’, a not-for-profit organisation that provides continuing support to families affected by homicide, this organisation has been fundamental in helping Michelle’s Family through some of their darkest times.
