Michelle’s Top Surgery & Aftercare Fund

Hi, Everyone.

My name is Roxanne, also known as Angel, and I am doing this fundraiser for my awesome friend, Michelle, who is a trans woman living in Brazil. Brazil is currently one of the most dangerous countries for trans people, and trans women in particular. I am very concerned not only for my friend’s happiness, but also her safety.  We have been able to raise funds to get her a safe place to stay, but she still needs assistance with the cost of her surgery and her aftercare.

I want to become my authentic self and I want to be safe from harm and have some protection from those who would threaten and harm me simply because I am different. I have been both threatened and attacked on numerous occasions by people who don’t understand me. Brazil has the highest rates of both physical attacks and murders of trans people, more than any other country in the world.  

I now have a safe home, and I am so grateful for that.  I will feel much safer, though, once I have my surgery and I look like the woman that I was meant to be.
