Michial Foy's World Championship Trip
Donation protected
Hi my name is Michial Foy. I grew up in Crete, IL, and started my wrestling career at Crete Monee High School where I was a 3x state qualifier. After graduating high school I attended Harper College in Palatine, IL where I earned my Associate's degree in liberal arts. During my years at Harper, I became a 2x NJCAA All-American. In 2019 I was an NJCAA champion. In 2020 I enlisted in the United States Army. After returning from my basic and AIT training I was recruited to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. In the Spring semester of 2021, I tore my meniscus. After recovery, I went on to start in the 2021-22 Big Ten Season, in which I was an NCAA qualifier. In June of 2022, I competed in the U23 Championships in Akron, OH where I placed first in the Greco-Roman 86kg weight class.
I am raising money for my trip to Pontevedra, Spain to compete in the World Championships in October 2022. The funds will cover training, travel, and general living expenses.
This trip is important to me because it would be a great opportunity to represent the African-American wrestling community. This will also be my first international trip which would be an amazing experience and an opportunity to make everyone who has supported me and coached me throughout my career proud.
