Michiru C.: Miss Black & Gold 2017

Hello everyone! My name is Michiru Carroll, originally from the South Suburbs of Chicago. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Missouri studying Sociology and Communications.
I am here today because I am pleased to announce that I have been blessed with a chance to contest in the 2017 Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Zeta Alpha Chapter's Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant. The Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant is, as described, "an event whose primary purpose is to highlight and foster the inextricable connection between success and etiquette amongst young women. This pageant spotlights the young women's poise, self-confidence, communication skills, intelligence, and beauty. In all, the Miss Black and Gold Pageant encompasses true womanhood, success, and confidence. Academic excellence and scholarship are greatly stressed in the competition with the Fraternity providing contestants with scholarships to assist with the financial obligations associated with post secondary studies." This pageant allows me to bond with several other young women who have also been selected to participate all while growing into the woman I aspire to be.
For this pageant, I, as well as the other young ladies, must raise at least $600.00, and the money raised will go towards the scholarship the pageant winners will receive as well as the overall production of the pageant. I am asking family, friends, everyone for your support in helping me raise money for this pageant. Any amount is highly appreciated, no matter how big or small! Have a wonderful day, and thank you for stopping by!
