Mick Crotty Tribute

Mick Crotty was known by many names: Mick,Dad, Papa, Uncle Mick, Big Fella, Mr Crotty, Sir, babe and darl. He was adored by everyone who met him and had such a positive influence on so many peoples lives.

In February 2020 Mick was diagnosed with brain cancer.

He underwent surgery to remove the largest tumour and started chemotherapy immediately. After four long rounds of Chemo, Mick came home for four wonderful weeks and spent time with his family.

Sadly, the tumours in Mick’s brain continued to grow at a rapid pace. He underwent a final round of chemo in July 2020, with little success.

Mick battled this awful disease with dignity, humility and grace, which he also applied to all other areas of his life.

Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to our darling Dad, husband, grandfather, brother, Uncle, friend, teacher and mentor.

Our family are so grateful for all of your love, strength and support during this horrific time. In lieu of sending flowers, we have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money in Dad’s name. please donate to the link below and we will be making a donation to the Mark Hughes Foundation onbehalf of Dad.

We love you Big Fella x
