Mickey Averett's Celebration of Life
Donation protected
On Wednesday, October 4th, Mickey passed with Todd right by her side. Sadly, we are now campaigning for a Celebration of Life service to be held on Mickey's Birthday, November 26th, at 11:26 AM, in La Jolla, California -- more details to be announced soon. Please RSVP on the Facebook event page here: https://fb.me/e/1o7qUYrS9
Thank you to each individual person that made the choice to donate to the initial campaign. Todd, Nick and Maddie are grateful beyond words for your generosity which allows them to focus on the personal tragedy of their loss and not worry about expenses. Now there are expenses toward arrangements for a service so we may all honor Mickey collectively and send her off at the shores of California that she loved so much.
Again, thank you for your support for Todd, Nick and Maddie. Mickey was so generous in loving, accepting and campaigning for others. Please post your special memories or photos on her obituary page here:
Previous Post:
On Friday, September 8th, Mickey's life took an unexpected turn when she collapsed suddenly during a video call with her best friend, Jacqui. She was rushed to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a middle cerebral artery stroke and a ruptured brain aneurysm. This devastating medical emergency required an intensive eight-hour brain surgery to save her life.
Mickey is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at the University of California at San Diego Jacobs Medical Center, where she is fighting tirelessly to recover. Her strength and resilience are truly remarkable, but she faces a very long and challenging road ahead.
While Mickey battles her way back to health, her husband, Todd Averett, and her two adult children, Nick and Maddie Brandon, are by her side, providing support and love. However, the financial burden of travel expenses such as flights, car rentals, gasoline, meals, and hospital parking is taking a toll on their family. Todd and Mickey live 70 miles from the hospital which requires a lot of gasoline and travel time. Further, additional expenses are expected, related to medical bills, ongoing treatments and necessary rehabilitation.
Mickey Averett is a loving wife, devoted mother, and a cherished friend to so many of us. My name is Jacqui Spiller and Mickey has been my best friend for almost 30 years. I have set up this GoFundMe campaign to allow those who love Mickey and who want to support her on her path to recovery.
This is where we, as a community, can make a difference. By contributing to this GoFundMe campaign, you can help ease the financial stress that Mickey and her family are facing during this difficult time. Your generosity will allow them to focus on what truly matters – Mickey's recovery and the well-being of her husband and children.
Every dollar counts, and no donation is too small. Your support will make a significant impact on Mickey's journey to recovery and her family's ability to provide the care and attention she needs.
Together, we can help them navigate this difficult path and bring hope, healing, and strength. Let's come together as friends, family, and compassionate individuals to support Mickey, Todd, Nick and Maddie during this challenging time.
Please consider donating today and sharing this campaign with your network to spread the word. Let's rally behind Mickey, Todd, Nick, and Maddie and show them that they are not alone in this fight.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. If you would like to offer other means of support please reach out to me directly with your information and desired contribution.
