Help us save our beautiful boy

In early 2024, we got the devastating news that our beautiful boy was suffering from congestive heart failure. Without life-saving surgery, his prognosis is bleak, but we have found an incredible team of doctors, and we now have a ray of hope. We have been in contact with a surgeon in France who can carry out the heart surgery he needs, but it is going to be very, very expensive. We are putting all the money we have into getting Mick to France, but we need a little help.

The costs

The final costs will be at least €35,000, but we are expecting follow-up checks, medication etc. to push that budget out to nearly €40,000. We need all the help we can get.

Vet bills up to 13th Feb: €6,059.80

Travel & Air B&B Apartment for the trip: €3,155

Surgery: €25,000 minimum (+drugs, feed etc.)

About us

We were blessed to welcome Mick into our lives in 2017 after his elderly former owners sadly had to rehome him as they were both suffering from Alzheimer's. We know about this all too well, as only three short years later, Dave’s mother sadly passed away after battling this horrible disease for over 14 years. This was the start of a horrific six weeks during which we also lost our beautiful baby girl, Lisa Eileen, during birth. Less than two weeks later, Dave’s dad succumbed to lung cancer, leaving us reeling. Throughout this horrendous time, our beautiful boy has been right by our sides, quietly helping us heal our shattered hearts.
