Mick’s cancer battle

Hi, I’m Leah and my husband Travis and I are reaching out to you to help our much loved brother, Michael Bedford.

At just 41 years old, Mick has been given the devastating news that he is facing the fight of his life and has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma - an incurable, rare type of bone cancer that can only be treated to slow progression and manage symptoms. Our worlds have been turned upside down and we are heartbroken, but we are rallying together to support him.

Mick is a loving husband to wife Larissa and an amazing father of two beautiful young children, Jaxson and Hannah, for whom it has been a very scary and confusing time.

The cost of medical bills, medication and treatments on top of the day to day cost of living is becoming increasingly overwhelming for Mick and Larissa. He has reduced his hours but will soon be off work completely for a number of months or longer as he progresses through chemotherapy and a full bone marrow transplant.
