Middle Children Sharing Kidneys
Donation protected
This journey began when Ann Marie heard the words, “You are a perfect match!"
The two middle children of six have a special connection. They have been close since they were small. Her brother has battled with his health his whole life, and now his kidneys are beginning to fail. Without fail, Ann Marie volunteered to go through the plethora of testing to if there was a chance to donate. Once she found out that she was healthy enough and a perfect match, she immediately said, “Yes, I’ll do it!”
At the beginning of March 2020, all were almost ready for the procedure. Especially Ann Marie. She was a manager at a fast-food restaurant and had been saving for her time out of work. Suddenly, COVID HIT, the company, was bought out, and she lost her income.
Because of COVID, doctors postponed the procedure too. During this time, she eagerly looked for work, but with COVID, there was no luck. In addition to this, her savings were depleted.
She was finally blessed with an excellent job for an incredible company.
Still, with outstanding debt, the time has come for Rick to receive his sister’s kidney. Rick will begin this process in the third week of September with his first surgery. Six to eight weeks later both Ann Marie and Rick will be operated on for the initial transplant. This will cause Annmarie to be in recovery for three months without income.
Would you please Help Ann Marie focus on healing from the procedure and not on paying bills by supporting her financially?
