Middle Tennessee’s first Safe Haven Baby Box
Tax deductible
Our goal is to give Middle Tennessee its first Safe Haven Baby Box (SHBB). It will be in Hendersonville, TN about 20 min from Nashville.
We have received a matching grant donation that will match up to 4,000$. Once we reach this amount we will have fundraised all we need to install the box! Please help us get there.
In a divided world, this is a bridge that serves the mother, the baby and the community, making it a positive impact on all parties involved.
The SHBB is equipped with silent alarm systems, is thermoregulated, and allows for an anonymous surrender of a baby up to 30 days postpartum. It is medically-engineered to protect the baby until first responders arrive. The average response time from drop off to first responder arrival is 2 minutes, but can sustain the baby for much, much longer if needed.
It also is fully equipped with resources and information to help the mom from surrendering if that is what she needs. It has a hotline for 24/7 access to a licensed counselor, free Telehealth appointments and connects the mom to great local and national resources to help her situation. The Baby Box is also a rich source of free resources for the community.
There are currently about 145 baby boxes national-wide and it’s been the case that all babies are adopted quite quickly.
If any of you feel called to donate anything I’m beyond grateful. Any amount no matter how small helps!!. -thank you-
