Midwife and Healthcare staff PPE sewing fundraiser
Donation protected
My name is Claire Gamache, I am a local born and raised North Vancouver doula. Being able to work around midwives and hospital staff has been such a wonderful experience. Being able to support and contribute to the lower mainland community, even if it's just organizing AMAZING volunteers to sew. This sewing project came into my mind after talking with local midwives and community staff. After one post and so many shares from family and friends, a group of outstanding volunteers started messages me! Each person that has contacted me have been working or staying home to keep not just themselves but the community safe. #STAYHOME #STAYSAFE
During this pandemic the healthcare system is in crisis mode and I want to do my best to help!
More expecting mothers are choosing to give birth at home! Midwives and Healthcare workers on the front lines are in need of full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) The sewing community of the lower mainland is mobilizing to sew from home during this crisis.
We are in need of more funding to purchase large quantities of FABRIC, ELASTIC and THREAD. We are also looking for more volunteers as drivers, sewers to pull this all together. This is a full community lead effort and we all hope to keep EVERYONE safe.
