Mighty Dream Fundraiser for Bettie F. Williams ES
Donation protected
Bettie F. Williams Elementary, a historically segregated school, sees the effects of its historic systemic oppression even to this day. With a lack of PTA funding for expenditures to which all elementary school students are entitled, students are unable to enjoy the same luxuries as their more privileged counterparts.
While the school DOES get funding through Title 1 and the city, the basic needs of these kids are often unable to be met through anything not offered through the program.
In the past, the school has had a tradition of buying t-shirts for the graduating 5th graders. Since Covid-19 began, it's been difficult for the school to afford this and some students are unable to buy the shirt themselves.
The goal of $3000 represents their need for school shirts at the end of the year! And any extra funding will go primarily towards school supplies, winter jackets, teacher appreciation materials, and other necessary items.
Please share with friends, family, and even businesses interested in donating items to benefit the kids! Thank you all :))
