Mighty Mario’s Fantastic Dream Quest!

Let me introduce you to my 19-year old special abilities son Mario. Mario has intellectual and speech challenges. He also is blind in his left eye due to congenital glaucoma. His entire young life medical doctors have warned us he would never climb stairs, ride a bike, swim, drive, throw/catch a ball or communicate. Mario being the turbo awesome amazing young man that he is, has proven them all so very wrong. He runs up and down stairs while texting his friends (to my chagrin), he drives giant lawn mower tractors for acres of INTRICATE patterns, he rides bikes, shoots baskets and just last night pitched me a small baseball size yellow rubber duck over 25 yards so straight and true with such force my hand stung for an hour! “Marios Dream” in 2021 is to earn his own money to purchase his own lawn care equipment. All he talks about all day is Stihl Leaf Blowers, Stihl Lawn Edgers, Stihl Weed Eaters, zero turn lawn mowers, rakes, pruners, clippers and driveway power washers! Why? So he can volunteer to mow and trim yards, and power wash driveways! He wants to continue building his own “Mario’s Green Monster Lawn Care!” non-profit modeled business. Last year Marios Mighty 2020 Dream was to raise $10,000 on Gofundme to purchase his own 12 foot rear ramp enclosed lawn equipment trailer and lawn care equipment.  Thanks to hundreds of contributions from generous big hearted creative tribe members, he successfully raised $10,000! Take a look at his turbo cool lawn equipment trailer photos below.  I’m so proud he insists on earning his own money for this, and I feel it’s a very powerful life lesson in setting your goals, following your dreams, and WORK WORK WORK to make it reality. I’m constantly amazed with all he has accomplished this past year despite this global pandemic! All the lawns he has cut, the driveway and cars he has power washed, all his volunteer time keeping our neighborhood clean and mowed, AND graduating from High School! Not to mention the thousands he inspired on our “Mario and Dad” YouTube live chill and draws. Here’s how you can help Mario. Thank you so very much, this project means the world to him! 1.
