Mighty Maverick's Miracle Mission

Maverick Traks Skibinski is quite the little fighter. He was born on July 27th at 25.2 weeks and weighed in at 1 lb 13oz! Since his grand entrance into the world, he has put up quite the fight for such a tiny little man and he has well earned his nickname; Mighty Maverick!
Over the course of his first 6 days of life, Maverick has made amazing strides. He has conquered his first (and hopefully last) Intraventricular hemorrhage
(IVH), no longer needs Bili lights, and is gaining weight!!! Woohoo!
Although he is a fighter and continues to get stronger each day that passes, being a Micro Preemie has its case of challenges. Maverick and his loving parents Stephanie and Tommy have a long road ahead of them, so we want to do everything in our power to make sure they are well prepared and supported for whatever life throws at their tiny but mighty man!
As of right now, Maverick is expected to face a long stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). From a factual standpoint many extremely premature babies grow up with no long-term effects of prematurity, while others face severe health problems throughout life. That being said, we are keeping our hopes high and our prayers constant and strong to give Maverick all the support he needs to continue to amaze us with his amazing strides as he continues to grow!
Maverick is Stephanie and Tommy's miracle; he is their world and they love him with every ounce of their beings. Although they are indeed the strongest and most courageous parents I have the pleasure of knowing, no one can ever be completely prepared for such an adventure as the one they have just started.
The intention of this page is to help offset any medical expenses, financial needs, and most importantly to help eliminate the stress and worry in which they are experiencing. The most important aspect for Steph and Tommy is to focus on is the well being of their newly born son. The hopes of this page is to give them a little peace of mind so they can spend time supporting Maverick, as well as each other, and not have to worry about needing to get back to work right away to pay for expenses associated with this journey.
For visiting this page and taking the time to learn about Mighty Maverick's story, we as a family thank you whole-heartedly. If you aren’t able to give a monetary contribution, that is absolutely okay! Your positive thoughts and prayers for Maverick, Stephanie and Tommy are the absolute greatest blessing the family can receive for their unconditionally loved baby boy.
