On Tuesday, October 10 at 10:35 pm Molly Evin Griffith was born at Women’s and Babies Hospital, shortly after her birth Molly’s health began to fail. She was airlifted to Penn State Health Children’s Hospital on Wednesday in critical stable condition with multiple organ failure and was placed on life support.

On Thursday Molly was put on ECMO to improve oxygenation to her organs and lower extremities, and to give her heart and lungs some rest. Dialysis was added on Friday. Her body has had to endure a battery of tests in addition to all of these necessary interventions. On Sunday morning, the team shared with Austin and Caroline that they felt they had exhausted all medical intervention and the doctors all recommended she be airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The team at CHOP performed extensive ultrasounds and other tests, and a group of doctors across many specialties are reviewing and discussing them on today (Monday).
