Migrant family in Denver in need of support
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Emma and I have been working with a migrant family from Venezuela for the last several weeks (with the support of a few other wonderful humans)!
I first noticed the influx of migrants over the holidays in Denver, and quickly realized they needed help. I couldn't imagine coming to a country where I did not know the language, and did not have support. I was connected with Adriana and her family through a wonderful organization in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver working to support migrant families with immediate needs like food, water, and clothes, as well as more long term needs like work permits, housing, transportation, etc.
Adriana and her partner (Junior Ramos), came to the United States in October 2023 with their three children, and one relative. They have been staying at a shelter in Denver, while looking for work. Adriana's kids are enrolled in a local school and love it. The kids are pictured in the cover photo, their names are Osmar (16), Albany (12), and Samuel (12).
Adriana and her partner have found an apartment to rent, as well as have a stipend for the first months rent. All that is needed is a deposit for the apartment to help get them on their feet. This fundraiser will cover the amount of the depost, $500. Any additional funds will be used for any essentials they need when they get settled in their new place.
Adriana is working tirelessly to support her family and look after her kids during this time. She is a great mother, compassionate human, and truly wants the best for her family. Any support you could provide in hopes of getting this deposit squared away is so helpful! Thank you in advance. Community is the only way forward!
