Mike & Sandy Turpen's Guardianship

Three weeks ago, Mike and Sandy took in their one- month-old niece, Emerson Ruth Turpen, after Mike's sister asked for help raising her daughter.  During their time with Emerson, and after evaluating their sister's situation, Mike and Sandy decided it was in the best interest to seek full legal guardianship of the child.  After speaking with the family courts and the Department of Family Services, the Turpens were advised to hire a lawyer to help with this process.  







As this was an unforeseen event in their lives, Mike and Sandy have not had the opportunity to budget the legal expenses for this move, but know it is a necessary act to protect the welfare of Emerson.  All money raised through this account will pay for the inital legal fees in applying for full legal guardianship of Emerson.
