On Monday, November 2nd at 5:18pm, Mike Basich received a phone call that is everyone's worst nightmare. A phone call stating that the Area-241 warehouse is in flames, and would eventually become a total loss due to a destructive fire that was caused by a faulty clothes dryer. This shop is where his inspiration for creative building began for a better environment. As the smoke settles, Mike's inspiration to restore the building is coming to light and he dreams of continuing creative building for years to come here.
Unfortunately, like thousands of other Californians, Mike's fire insurance was dropped last year with no other agency willing to take over the coverage. This terrible situation has left Mike with nothing but pure destruction and an expensive road to recovery.
Being neighbors with Mike for 13 years has provided me with the opportunity to gain a great deal of understanding about the type of person he is. Mike is the person that is always willing to lend a hand to help you in anyway that he possibly can, and now it is our turn to return that favor to him.
