Mike Bergeron & Family

It's been a while since we've posted so I wanted to share an update on Mike and his battle with cancer, on behalf of his family. They greatly appreciate everyone's donations, prayers, and well wishes. As you can imagine, a battle like this comes with a huge financial burden.

Michael has undergone 6 major surgeries with 4 of them being on his spine. He now has hardware keeping his spine together with a large lesion and bone removed. Michael has had 3 infections on the hardware in his spine, including a staff infection. He has had 20+ minor procedures on his spine, due to the infections and the spine internally not healing. It is still not healed today and he may need more procedures. He is on his 3rd round of radiation, which, for his type of cancer is more for pain management than a type of cure. The radiation he’s currently going through is for a lesion on his lower spine that is compressing nerves that are making his leg numb and tingling. Michael has also undergone immunotherapy which did not have a huge impact. He is on his second type of chemotherapy. The impact of all the medications, surgeries, and cancer is he is down 100 lbs and is very weak. Michael has always been a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day so he still has a positive outlook on life.

Original Note: Hi, my name is Jen Lanci & I'm fundraising for Mike Bergeron & his family. Mike was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer June 28th 2022. The Cancer has spread to the bones, lungs, and liver. Mike has already endured multiple surgeries to remove a large tumor in his spine along with heart complications in the process. He has doctors here in Connecticut and at Dana Farber Cancer Institute working together on a treatment plan to get this cancer under control. Mike will be out of work for the foreseeable future, and his wife, Jessica needs to be home to help care for him. Together they have 4 children to care for. We are raising money to support Mike, Jessica Jonathan, Lilly, Amber & Brady as they navigate this difficult time. All funds will go directly to them for medical bills, household expenses, etc. The Bergeron family greatly appreciates any donations and well wishes.
