For Mike Blue to Kick Cancers Butt

I am fundraising for Michael Blue. Mike and I have been friends for over 32 years. Mike is the friend who keeps in touch with everyone. He has kept our group of friends together for the past 32+ years. Mainly by calling you over and over until you give in, and show up. But that's the point right? To show up for each other. Our friendships stay together because HE puts in the work, it's just the type of guy he is. When we are all together, it's like we're teenagers hanging out without a care in the world. He gives us that. In reality, time has gone by quicker than we have ever imagined, and suddenly we're all in our 40s. Mike was the first to have grandchildren which we teased him about relentlessly. Unfortunately, he is also the first to get a frightening medical diagnosis.

On Jan. 30th Mike was experiencing extreme stomach pain and ended up in the ER. They showed a large mass in his colon and areas of concern on his liver. By February 1st, he was in surgery where doctors removed 12 inches of his colon along with the large mass and found two smaller polyps. After the biopsy, it's as suspected Adenocarcinoma Arcinoma aka Cancer. He was sent home on Feb. 8th to rest and heal. He is still waiting for the liver biopsy to be scheduled and is waiting for the Oncologist to set his appointment for more testing. He will also need a Pet scan to check other areas that the CT could not see. Praying they find nothing else. Mike is a fighter but is taking the news hard more so since he just laid his mom to rest on January 3rd, after her long battle with kidney cancer.

Thankfully Mike has his wife Kelly for home care and family and friends to cheer him up. But, he is struggling with not being able to work at this time physically and is burdened with how he will make ends meet. Now, that he is in this unpredictable fight, I am hoping we can put in the work for him.

I have written this many times uncertain how to put on paper the type of man he is within a small bit of space, it would take a book to tell the story of Mike. And, how do you ask strangers to help someone you love so much who would never ask for help themselves? This is tough. Please help us show up for Mike.
