Mike Esparza's Medical Leave

Hello, my name is Matt and I’m setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my twin brother, Mike. He is currently unable to work due to a back injury. Mike took a short-term medical leave in early August. While his medical insurance did help with some of the costs of doctor visits, the short-term disability did not last very long. It is a cruel and brutal process. He is covered in both short and long-term disability. However, they keep denying an extension of leave pay. He did receive a spinal injection in October, but he is still in a lot of pain.

He is scheduled for another round of spinal injections in two weeks. We are praying for positive results. We don’t know what the next days, weeks, and months will entail. There is a possibility of spinal surgery. We are hoping to raise some funds to help him cover his spinal injections, physical therapy, and basic living expenses.

Mike is a very talented artist. He paints pet portraits for extra income. However, he does struggle with sitting at his easel or desk for short periods. Mike says he can’t wait to get back to work. Back to doing normal things like taking his dog Beatrix out for walks again. And back to being an artist.
