Mike Fugett Recovery
Donation protected
My dad Michael Fugett suffered a life altering brain bleed on 12/11/2023. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance and underwent an emergency cranioplasty. He had a large piece of his skull removed to allowed room for swelling of his brain. His surgeon then told us it would be at least 3 months before he could have the craniectomy (putting the skull back on). Since then, we have been trying to survive. If I could wrap him in bubble wrap I would. But that’s not the case. He is frustrated with his new “normal” and wants so badly to get better. I need him to continue to focus on recovering. Yesterday, I was informed that his 12 week job security will be ending march 3rd. He will no longer have any income. If you don’t know, I moved back in with my dad in August because I couldn’t afford to pay my own rent. He so graciously allowed me here with open arms. He was the sole provider. I’m now having to figure out how to make ends meet. I have started the process of applying for disability. But that is a lengthy process that is uncertain it will even be enough to keep the house. I don’t know what’s next but I know we need help. If anyone can donate it will go towards paying all of my dads bills (house, electric, water, groceries etc). Luckily he has insurance so medical bills are covered except for co pays. But those have been adding up as well. I work full time and am going to either have to cut back or hire help. If you or anyone you know are interested in becoming a caregiver for my dad please reach out. He cannot be alone for his own safety.
thank you for reading. This is all so scary and unknown to us. And I really hope the worst part of it is over. But we all are adapting and trying to figure out the new “normal.” Any resources are appreciated extremely. (Advice, guidance on what to do next, donations, prayers, positivity). Thank you for reading. Please share if you feel inclined.
