Mike Graybill's Lung Transplant Fund
Donation protected
This journey began nearly 4 years ago when Mike was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Mike and Renee's lives were quickly divided into two different times: their lives before diagnosis and their lives after diagnosis.
The first two years saw only subtle changes in Mike’s ability to breathe normally. About 2.5 years after diagnosis, the changes came quickly and without much warning. Mike went from being on a portable oxygen machine to 24/7 oxygen. This disease has now progressed to the point that Mike needed to be on 8 liters of oxygen even when at rest. He needed up to 15 liters of oxygen to complete the smallest physical task such as taking a shower or walking a flight of stairs. The only cure for this disease was a lung transplant.
From Renee: "We don’t need to know why we are living with this disease, but we know that we serve a God who has walked this road ahead of us. He is faithful and our hope is in Him."
Mike was blessed with donor lungs that were transplanted on Friday, August 7th at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. The upcoming journey has many unknowns for Mike and Renee. We are raising funds for them so they do not need to worry about the loss of income, insurance payments, along with food and lodging needs for the upcoming months as Mike heals.
Thank you for giving to this amazing family!!
