Mike Kimble's rays of hope

My name is LeeAnna Kimble, the daughter-in-law of Mike Kimble. I am creating this GoFund me on behalf of the Kimble family - my husband Larson, his sister Alayna, mother Amy, and father Mike.

For those who are friends with Mike, you have been following his vacation diaries, local concert lineups, and now his very sudden battle with cancer.

On June 16th, Mike went to the emergency room for blood clots in his legs that led to a discovery of masses in his liver and pancreas. He was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic and Liver cancer on July 5th. After this diagnosis, he was scheduled to begin Chemotherapy on July 12th. However, Mike was admitted to the ER again for complications due to a tumor blocking his colon, causing a tear that required an emergency surgery to repair. This long recovery process from the surgery has made him ineligible to receive chemotherapy. With this circumstance, Mike has returned to his home to receive hospice care.

Since chemotherapy and radiation is no longer an option, Mike has been referred to a holistic healer that has customized a rigorous regimen for him to begin. The goal of this course of treatment is to improve his quality of life, while hopefully prolonging it as well. We are all willing and optimistic for this course of treatment to bring healing, comfort, and wellness as this doctor has helped many others in a similar position.

Mike demonstrates great hope that this alternative to chemo is the best fit for him and his health. The money that is collected through fundraising will help him receive treatment and help his family balance the cost of medical bills being accrued from home hospice care, surgery, and prior hospitalization.

Many beloved friends and family have been sharing their thoughtful prayers, uplifting messages, and memories. These thoughts are gratefully accepted as your words of kindness and encouragement have given Mike and his family an optimistic energy moving forward.
