Krause Fund- In loving Memory of Mike Krause

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Brooke and I am the mother of the recipient of this go fund me. With a heavy heart I tell you with my daughter’s permission that on 12/17/23 Myiah tragically lost her husband Mike. This world is one amazing soul less now and our families will never be the same.

Mike battled with years of depression, served our country acquiring major bodily injuries causing him to qualify for 90% disability, had PTSD as a veteran and unfortunately for his family & friends he took his own life leaving behind a wife, 2 daughters, his son and a whole lot of people with huge holes in their hearts.

Krause story:

Mike & Myiah met early 2018 in Alaska and became instant friends. They made it official July 2018 and Myiah had a young daughter at the time that Mike stepped up and became dad to without a second of hesitation. Having been adopted himself, there was no question to him that Peyton was his daughter the second he committed himself to love, care and be Myiahs best friend for life. Shortly after he adopted her as his own and she officially became his daughter. He adored Peyton and it was obvious his heart was full of love being a dad and loved his little family.

When Mike wasn’t working he was with Myiah and his children when he could. Sometimes Myiah even worked with him as a team on various jobs if she could. Very rarely did you see them apart. They had a connection most of us envy and were the best of friends. I don’t believe they could get tired of each other and it showed.

Moving forward they were married late 2019 and then they were expecting. Along came a handsome little boy named Colton and he is a spitting image of his dad as a child and also carries a lot of Mike’s goofy traits. Shortly after Colton, Myiah became pregnant again and they had beautiful little Loretta who also has strong traits of Mike. They are a year apart. Their children are 5, 3, and 2. Myiah is a stay at home mom and homeschooling the oldest, Peyton.

In 2020 Mike moved his family back to his home state of Florida which he missed very much, along with his parents who he was very close with and they were so excited for the adventure to be in the sunshine state! For Mike he was home and for Myiah she was home as long as she was where Mike was, so she was home as well. She did miss her family, but she was happy with her bestie. Myiah left all she ever knew in Alaska and all her family, support and security in Alaska to start her adventure with her husband and best friend. I really can’t express just how much they were two peas in a pod when it comes to their friendship and love. There was nothing they didn’t dream about together or plan for their future as a team.

This tragedy has created a widowed mother of 3 young children with no income.

We are starting the process to see what she will qualify for with the VA, Social Security, and any other resources we have been advised to reach out to.

Mike & Myiah bought their first home 2 years ago with a Va loan and we need to go through the process that could take up to many months to sort out and because of that possibility, part of the goal is to replace that income for 6 months so she can pay her bills and keep a roof over her children’s heads and food in their bellies, mourn the loss of her best friend, and sort out what she is going to do In the event she cannot get benefits from the VA. (5k x 6 = $30,000)

A portion of the goal is to finish the repairs to the home in the event she is forced to sell. Some repairs are minor but some are major like the drain field and varies repairs within the home that are costly- flooring, doors, windows, painting, etc. Regardless, the repairs need to be done even if she does not need to sell, so I included it in the goal. ($20,000)

I have also included a budget for each child’s personal needs like clothes, school supplies, child care while she tries to find a job and sort things out.
($12,000- child care being most of this)

Lastly, I put in a budget for his celebration of life that she wants to do for him in the near future when she is stronger. ($3,000)

Death is hard to deal with all by itself. However, suicide is an extra horrible thing to deal with. Especially when there was no obvious red flags and no goodbye note only leaves her and all of us so confused with so many questions. They were planning her birthday breakfast & dinner, yes 12/17 is Myiah’s birthday. He made many comments about “see you tomorrow” and then he was just gone.

I wish Mike could see just how much he was loved, how many have come together to support Myiah because they loved his little family and just how much he was adored by so many. A man who would give you the shirt off his back if it meant you wouldn’t suffer. A man who always opened his door to anyone in need and consistently did things for people without having to be asked, like getting rid of his elderly neighbor’s trash because it makes it a little easier for them in their life. He never expected anything in return. Such a loving and giving soul he was. Always had a goofy attitude, smile on his face and just full of life all the time. I’ve never seen my daughter light up and be as goofy as she was with him. This was so unexpected and so devastating to our family and friends. So many loved him and so many are going to miss him.

Six years was just not nearly long enough for this kind of love to be divided like this!

We are asking a minimum donation of $25 but any donation is greatly appreciated and will help us get closer to the goal to make sure Myiah and their 3 children do not go without what they need, Myiah can mourn properly and not stress about making sure their kids are provided for, their home can get properly repaired, and give Myiah time to sort everything out with the VA and other sources.

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this, considering donating, and even if you are unable to donate please keep our family, friends, and all that are mourning the loss of this wonderful man in your prayers.
