Mike "McBeardo" McPadden Memorial Fund

Words from Brian Collins, a dear friend of Mike.

"The world got a little less bright today when it lost Mike "McBeardo" McPadden, one of the brightest lights I have ever known. Admittedly, he sometimes shined on things not everyone was interested in seeing (like obscure and tasteless cinema from the 70s).

Sometimes he shined right in your face so you couldn't even see at all. And sometimes he shined to light the way for someone who was lost. But he was always shining, and it was impossible to look away. Realizing that his light has gone out is painful beyond words (and his words were always better than mine anyway).

To say that knowing him changed my life profoundly would be a gross understatement, and I am sure there are many others who feel the same way. So, if you knew Mike from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Facebook, or Crackpot Cinema, and if he ever made you laugh, or smile, or roll your eyes, please think about contributing to this fund to help Rachel, the love of his life, whom he married ten years ago this month, on the 23rd.

This will be a dark winter for Rachel, but we can at least lighten the financial burden that Mike's sudden death has caused her along with the overwhelming shock and sadness. Thanks to you all. "

To know Mike was a gift. When I think of the ripple of impact this man has had in the lives of so many, I am deeply moved.  14 years ago, Mike helped me in one of the darkest times in my life without question. He brought hope, love, and laughter to the lives of many including my own.

Mike's generosity of spirit has been felt by many. To know Mike was an honor.

The fund is to support funeral costs, income, and living expenses for his wife Rachel and the amazing child they opened their homes to this year. Anything you can send along will be received with the utmost gratitude. This has been an incredibly difficult year for so many. Please consider sending along some love in the form of a financial donation.
