Mike McCabe

Hi, our names are Eric and Jill Filiatrault and our close friend who we consider family, Mike McCabe, has unexpectedly become very ill. What started off on Wednesday as a muscle tear has been found to be significant blood clots in both of his lungs (pulmonary embolisms) which required immediate treatment. These were being treated and he was improving until Friday when things worsened and Mike became more ill. Mike eventually required emergency surgery to treat an obstruction in his colon (ileostomy) to correct this. During surgery, it was found that the tube that was draining his stomach hadn’t been completely effective and he aspirated in surgery. He is in the intensive care unit at this time and is stable, however, due to the significant emergent health issues he has been getting treated, other medical tests and procedures are needing to be put on hold while he heals. We have started this fundraiser to help with the medical expenses for Mike and to help the family as his wife, Hannah, is off of work to help with Mike’s care as well as care for their three children. These people are the most humble, kind and caring people you will ever meet and it is extremely difficult for them to allow this fundraiser, however, I did get the approval to post this to try to help them in their time of need.
