Mike Pettit needs our Help!

My name is Elena Psarakis, I am raising money for Mike Pettit. We went to high school together. Mike makes his living doing ride shares and his truck is totaled. While the girl was drunk gator was partly found out fault as he was turning left off the highway and didn't see her. Currently he is in Fairfax Hospital recovering from back surgery. The money will go to helping him with hospital bills and getting him a new/used ride so he can get back to work.

Update from his friend: Dec 24: Hey all its Janice. I just wanted to update you guys. I am here at the hospital with Gator. He's out cold and said he hasn't had much sleep. The surgery is over and docs say everything is stable. He's at Inova Fairfax. I know when he had his heart surgery here the doctors and staff were excellent. The biggest thing is it will be a long recovery and he will have to wear a soft neck brace for at least a month or two. He was coming to meet me halfway from VA to PA to catch up. I am waiting in the lot and hear a huge car crash on route 15. When I look, I see an SUV going across the highway with all the air bags out and obviously steering itself. I jumped out and ran into the highway to help but as I got closer, I couldn't believe it when I realized it was Gator. Thankfully I wouldn't let him get out and made him wait until the ambulance arrived. I had no idea at the time his neck was broken in two places. I will stay with him the next couple nights and post any updates until he feels up to doing it himself. Thanks for all your prayers as you see it could have been a lot worse.
