Mike Piwoni Medical Kidney Transplant

Hi, My name is Kristi Piwoni and I am fundraising for my husband, Michael Piwoni. For many years now, he has struggled with his diabetes which has turned into his Kidney disease. As most of his medical conditions are hereditary, it does not make it any easier living life from day to day.

After he was told his kidney function is progressively getting less & less, he hit another bump with having his retina in his eye detatch in Dec. 2020. This kept him home for recovery for 6 months. Lowering his income & ability to see from then on.

He's had to visit his eye doctor monthly for almost 3 years. Each time receiving shots into his eye, ranging in cost from $600-$800. Lately he's been receiving an even more expensive Shot, to hopefully improve his vision.

Since January of 2023 he has been doing In-Home peritoneal dialysis for 10 hours each night, while he sleeps. He has been continuing to work full-time at Milwaukee Tool.

For the past year he has been going through all the medical demanding CT Scans, Lung x-rays, blood tests and now Cath procedure to get on the Kidney transplant list. The Cath procedure has recently revealed 2 blockages in his heart. The doctor did not want to proceed with the stints(what we were expecting them to do), but recommended open hear surgery to have it last longer.

Coming up on Oct. 24th, 2023 we ask for your thoughts and prayers as Mike has his open heart surgery at UW Health in Madison.

With Everything Mike has been going through, He truly is my hero. He gets up everyday and goes to work. Even with both of us continuing to work full-time, we are and have been struggling financially.
