Mike, a vibrant and healthy 10-year-old boy, was the epitome of joy, a little boy that brightened the lives of everyone around him. His infectious laughter and warm hugs earned him the nickname "the hugger" among family and friends.
On a fateful evening, after returning from school, Mike went about his usual routine. He played with his little sister and eagerly waited his older brother’s approval as he checked his homework. It was a simple and routine moment that would soon be shattered by an unforeseen tragedy. In an instant, a stray bullet shattered the tranquility of the household. The living room, once filled with the warmth of family, was now clouded with chaos and confusion.
Mike, innocent and unsuspecting, had been struck. He was rushed to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where Mike fought valiantly for his life. The once lively boy lay on a hospital bed, surrounded by the hum of machines and the whispers of worried family members. The community, once united in joy by Mike's presence, now stood united in grief, grappling with the harsh reality of a life cut short. An altar boy at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, he represented faith and purity, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
Mike was a student at Park Lakes Elementary School in Lauderdale Lakes, where he is remembered by principal Rhonda Paris, staff, and students. His untimely departure has left his family shattered and terrified, especially in the place they once called home. We come together to support Mike's grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. We are seeking your generous donations to help alleviate the burden of mounting medical bills and to assist with the funeral arrangements in his name.
Your contributions, no matter the size, will make a significant impact. Mike's memory will forever live on as the loving, kind-hearted boy who touched the lives of everyone around him. Let us unite in the memory of Mike, ensuring that his legacy of love continues to shine brightly in our hearts.
