Robert Michael Stearns graced the earth with his arrival. Born to parents Bob and Janice Stearns in the quaint town of Victor, NY. He is the oldest of their 4 children.

Mike, as everyone refers to him by, is a real stand up guy, and family man. A once in a lifetime find, a real gem of a human being with a heart of gold!

Throughout his 61 years, he was able to become a success in his own right.
In his early days, he owned and operated a comic book store. However, this ultimately turned out not to be his inevitable calling in life.

A decade later, Mike had now branched off into the Restaurant and Hospitality industry where seemed to find his niche as the "Jon Taffer" of the industry. He helped revive and bring some failing food chains such as Sonny's and Perkins back to relevancy and profitability with bright new ideas, ingenuity, and great leadership. He was pretty much always in a position of management, undertaking assignments such as: General Manager at Dave and Busters, and Cracker Barrell. Being a regional and training manger for Hooters and Timeout. Later on achieving a position as a General Manager at Longhorn Steakhouse in Lake Buena Vista, FL where he remained for the past few years.

Mike was a legend both in the workplace, and away from it. During his down time, Pop could be found watching sports, as he was a HUGE Buffalo Bills fan! Enjoying weekend trips to Disney World with his grand kids, painting with Bob Ross, singing to pretty much every song on the radio, cooking, and just doing the things that allowed him to smile and laugh as often as he could with his family.

My father, is a guy that left the world better than he found it, someone who has never lacked appreciation, and gratitute or failed to express it. A man who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.
He is a man who has gained the respect of the most intelligent men and women. Along with the love of everyone who was fortunate enough to get to know him. Someone who has filled the shoes placed before him and accomplished his life's task.

Mike "Pop" Stearns, lost his battle with Covid-19, after almost a month in the hospital on Friday, December 11th at 11:13pm.
He is survived by a very lovely wife, Cathy Stearns, four sons that he is extremely proud of Aaron, Sean, Patrick, and Ryan Stearns, and 3 grandchildren that he absolutely adores Leonidas, Megan, and Emily Stearns.

That is purpose of this Gofundme is to help my suddenly widowed Mother, with the expenses that come along with my Father's month long stay in the hospital with Coronavirus and pneumonia and being airlifted to a different hospital. Its astronomical! And before my Dad passed away, my parents had recently purchased their home together which Mom also now has to take on payments for. We hope to build up Dad's dream (memorial) garden in the backyard by the Spring of 2021.

Just in time for Butterflies!

Thank you immensely,
-The Stearns Family
