Mike's Recovery Fund

Hi, my name is Emma and I am Heidi and Mike's neice. Last week my uncle Mike came home from the hospital. If you have been following his aunt Mary's CaringBridge posts, you know about his accident and what a rollercoaster it has been. After his onewheel accident, he had brain surgery to stop a brain bleed and neck and back surgery to repair three broken vertebrea. He was in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks. According to his doctor, his recovery so far has been remarkable given the extent of his injuries. We are so greatful to the surgeons and nurses who fixed him up in the hospital! Now he is on the road to recovery.

Heidi has been busy getting the house in order and making the necessary adjustments to help Mike navigate everyday activities. His back and other injuries, including a fractured pelvis and clavical will take time to heal. It will be a couple of months before he can really take care of himself and longer before he can return to work. My uncle's good prognosis is truely a blessing, but Mike and Heidi have a long road ahead. I am creating this GoFundMe page to help them with all of the bills, costs, and time off work associated with Mike's recovery. I know that Mike has so many friends, and that many of you want to help. I also know Heidi and Mike are both so grateful for all of the encouraging comments and well wishes they have already received from their friends and family.
