Mike Wadlow

Hi guys, my name is Bri and I am a citizen of Port Angeles. I am fundraising to help Mike Wadlow, the 61-year-old man who was attacked on the Port Angeles pier earlier this week. I was absolutely mortified watching the video of the teenagers who attacked him while he slept peacefully. They beat him with a gun and threatened his life. They left him with cracked ribs, bruises all over his body and trauma that will last a lifetime. They threw everything he owned into the ocean. All of his personal belongings as well as so many precious, irreplaceable items. I did not even get through the whole video before I started sharing about what was going on. I soon realized that no one had located the man, so I took it upon myself to go and track him down. I walked around the pier and a few other places talking to the homeless community to try and find this man. One of his good friends called me that night and had located him. I went to the park, brought them food and introduced myself to Mike. I told him that lots of people were looking for him, that wanted to help. He was shocked. I have been with Mike every day since, gathering resources and making sure he is getting what he needs. There have been so many wonderful people in our community that are being so helpful as well. I definitely couldn't do this without everyone, thank you so much for the love and support. Mike is very overwhelmed with it all and SO VERY THANKFUL!!! He would never ask for this himself, that’s why I am so eager to do this for him. From every interaction I’ve had with him and everything I have been hearing from the community, he is a wonderful person. Let’s rally behind Mike and show him that PA is so much better than this. ❤️

With the funds growing as they have been, I know there is a question of how this will be spent. I am going to be reaching out in the community for a financial advisor for Mike. I want these funds to help him get on his feet and STAY on his feet. I will make sure that this is all spent in a very responsible way. Mike has been so wonderful in trusting me to take this on. We will not let the community down, he is so grateful for this opportunity to change his life!! It is a horrible start to the story, but there are SO many good things coming from this!!
