Help support Mike with his battle against terminal cancer.

*****IMPORTANT UPDATE*****
After meeting with my consultant yesterday we were given the devastating news that my liver function markers had significantly deteriorated to the point where no further
treatment would be tolerated. I have therefore stopped any further donations through the page and am arranging for all the donations to be returned to everyone.
Thank you all again for your generosity and I’m sorry it wasn’t able to help in the end.
Love Mike x
My amazing brother-In-law, he is 40 years old, a husband to my beautiful sister, and a father to my lovely niece and 2 nephews. Mike was diagnosed with BRAF gene mutated stage 4 colon cancer that had already spread to the liver and lungs on the 6th June 2023 and more recently to the Thoracic spine. After a hard year of intensive chemotherapy, spinal radiotherapy and targeted gene therapy unfortunately the cancer has progressed and spread further which has limited his life.
Mike has been offered Lonsurf and bevacizumab drug treatment however this will need to be self funded as bevacizumab alongside the Lonsurf drug is not currently offered on the NHS despite the evidence for its efficacy when they are used in conjunction. The cost of this treatment is £1,800 every 2 weeks. (More information on this treatment attached) We are therefore setting up this page to try and assist with the funding for this treatment. Mike has been unable to work the last year due to the amount of pain he is suffering with. This drug will not save Mike but will hopefully allow him to have extra time to make meaningful memories for his 3 wonderful children.
If anyone can donate, we would be forever grateful ♥️
Should the donated funds exceed the amount required to pay for the treatment (if treatment was discontinued, for example due to adverse reaction to the drug, Mike was no longer able to cope with the side effects, the treatment was deemed ineffective in managing symptoms and objective markers, death) then the remaining donated money could be used for a different treatment, any other associated medical and practical costs related to the condition, funeral costs, supporting the immediate family going forwards.
