Mike Zamudio's End of Life Planning

Hi, my name is Theresa, and I am fundraising for Julie Zamudio and her family. Julie is a gifted special education teacher, and has been a friend and co-worker of mine for several years now. She and her husband, Mike, are well-known and loved as performers of Irish music.

Mike has been fighting cancer for the last three years, and is nearing the end. This is an amazing and loving family going through an incredibly difficult time. Here is a recent update from Julie:

"This has been a bittersweet holiday season. It's been very sweet to be with my family, but it is pretty awful to see Mike slipping away.

He feels that he has some number of weeks left, and I have no reason to doubt his instincts. He's very weak, and is spending lots of time sleeping. His next round of chemo is coming up, and he may or may not choose to go through with it.

I feel like it's time for me to actively start planning his funeral. It's getting very close to the time for me to take leave from work and stay home until the end.

It's hard, but we're making it work with the help of friends, family, and community.

Hold your dear ones close."

Julie shared with me that she could use some assistance with funeral expenses. She has the love and support of all of their children and grandchildren now, who are living with Julie and Mike to help care for him as he approaches the end of his earthly life. Expenses for their daily living until he passes would also be quite helpful.
