Michael Salvador's Fund

For over 10 years, Mike has been a role model and inspiration for young people in New York City and feels privileged to share with them what he loves most: soccer.
As a youth coach, he has had a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of young players, teaching them soccer skills but more importantly, motivating them to be self-confident human beings. He also works in Spanish Harlem with public school children and is a beloved figure for both students and teaching staff.
Wanting to do even more for his community, he recently enrolled to become a special education teacher with the New York Department of Education, excited to take the next professional step.
Unfortunately, last week he was the victim of a violent assault after a soccer tournament. As a result, he needed a painful surgery to reconstruct his jaw, which now must remain wired shut for the next 4 to 6 weeks, preventing him from working and attending his studies.
For those who know him well, it’s unthinkable that something like this could happen to someone who devotes so much of his time and energy to others. Despite the circumstances, Mike continues to be optimistic and moving forward towards his goals.
We’re asking everyone to please donate what they can to help cover the cost of the surgery and medical expenses. Any and all donations would be appreciated to help get Mike back on his feet. We are confident that his soccer family will step up and show what the NY soccer community can do.
