Support for Mikes wifes Funeral
To my Toronto community and more, I humbly reach out for my fellow coworker, a friend, a husband, and would have been a father of two, Mike(Mykhailo Yatskanych) who on September 16th found his 8-month-old pregnant wife Neila dead in his North York condominium.
It was a dark day. It was a sad day.
While at work around 10:00 AM, he received a phone call from his neighbor that he must return home for an emergency.
It was at this time when Mike arrived, he found Neila's pregnant body cold, laying dead in his apartment with their 5-year-old daughter Adeline.
Tears ran down his face, confused. How could his 28-year-old wife just leave? Without a word? Without a hug? Without any signs.
Just that weekend, the family attended a local church camp where they spent 3 days in prosperity and joy.
A tragedy. A broken family. A daughter without a mother. A man without his wife. A community without a friend, gone forever.
Mike is the light in the room. The positive energy. He can be heard miles away. Always smiling, ready to tackle the day ahead of him. He arrived in Canada from Ukraine 4 years ago. He was the sole support of his family and worked all day to do so.
He would wake up at 5 AM each morning to drive for Uber. Then start his 8-hour shift at 7:00 AM and when finished, return to driving for Uber or do side jobs to bring in all and any income he could to support his family.
He believed in providing so Neila could focus on her pregnancy and their daughter who had just started school.
A man who was committed to sacrificing his time, his life to give opportunity for his daughter and soon-to-be son, the life they dreamed of, only to be broken and torn apart.
The body is still going through an autopsy investigation which we will all discover what happened to Nelia. It is believed she suffered from a blood clot near her heart.
As a person who also just had a baby 8 months ago, this touched my heart in more ways than it should. It was the fear that we faced during our pregnancy. It is something that we forget when it finishes because we feel joy when we see our newborns. This is all what Nelia, Adeline, and Mike wanted to feel as the time was nearing.
But for them, it did not come.
As a person with multiple jobs that bring enough money only to support his living. He now faces yet another obstacle with expensive bills for the funeral to bury his wife and unborn child.
This is where I reach out to you all and humbly request your support for Mike and his daughter.
Let's as a community, a society raise enough money so we can take the burden of the funeral costs from Mike and Adeline so they can mourn in peace.
Let them be with their families. Let them find what life is now going to be.
All donations are welcomed. all proceed will go to Mike and fmaily. More importantly, please make prayers for Mike and his family.
