Officer Santos works for Sahuarita PD and was recently diagnosed with cancer. https://www.gofundme.com/officer-in-need-of-assistance Michael (Mickey) Ian Armstrong, a Student of Anza Trail Middle School died unexpectedly on Saturday May 12, 2018 at his home in Sahuarita. Mikey is survived by his parents; Brian Ray Armstrong and Hortencia Margarita (Magaly) Armstrong; his brothers Joseph (Joey) and David (Jack) Armstrong; Grandparents Larry and Mary Armstrong and Mario Amaya and Hortencia Garcia; and many other many other loving family and friends. Mikey was born March 11, 2006 in Albuquerque New Mexico. Soon after his family moved to Arizona where he called home. Mikey loved his community and took pride in educating others as to how to properly pronounce “Sahuarita”. Mikey loved his family and spending time with his brothers. His favorite activities included hanging out in shorts, playing video games, watching Star Wars, playing with nerf guns, eating Takis and drinking Coca-Cola (NOT PEPSI!). Mikey loved playing soccer with his friends, playing football because his dad wanted him to, and being the jokester of the group. Mikey loved talking to his friends and hanging out. Mikey was outspoken, argumentative and could negotiate into or out of anything. He loved learning, was a Mathlete, and received several honors and awards from school. He loved his Mexican heritage and enjoyed practicing his Spanish language skills. A funeral service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on May 18, at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 505 N. La Canada Drive Green Valley, AZ.
